HF/50MHz 10W Automatic Antenna Tuner.
The FC-80 is a 10W HF/6M light and thin automatic antenna tuner unit that is attached to the rear of the FTX-1Field head unit using the supplied spacer that clips over the SBR-52Li battery. It is connected to the radio using a short BNC Coax lead and data cable (both supplied) that powers and controls the ATU. Your PL-259 Antenna Coax connects to the SO-239 socket.
The SCF-1 Fan unit or the SBR-52Li battery can be combined with the FC-80 but not both.
It is designed to tune antennae that are within the specified impedance matching range of the tuner at the frequency of operation. It should not be expected to match ‘long wire’ type antennae* unless they present an impedance within the matching range of the tuner shown below.
*The FC-90 is an automatic tuner designed to tune both coaxial fed antennas such as dipoles and random length long-wire antenna.
